Because I (asac) received a good amount of private mail, I just instantiated a
user
help forum for all kind of jxtaim related discussion.
J.I.M v0.1i Released
jxtaim-0.1i is
out. Though I planned not to release a new version from this branch anymore, I decided
to do it anyway. It contains long requested features like jdk1.5 support and fixes
for some painful bugs. Be aware that you cannot use your java 1.4 profile with java 1.5
and v.v., so stick to one jdk version for now.
For more detailed information see release notes for 0.1i.
J.I.M v0.1h Released
jxtaim-0.1h is
out. Its the final release of the 0.1 branch. This release fixes
a missing library that prevented manual configuration of
rendevouz and relays.
Get it now!
For more detailed information see release notes for 0.1h.
J.I.M v0.1g2 Released
jxtaim-0.1g2 is
out. Its a patch release fixing a bad bug preventing the peergroup
to effectivly form itself. This is the reason why with 0.1g you
cannot communicate accross subnets. Please update immediately.
For more detailed information see release notes for 0.1g2.
J.I.M v0.1g Released
jxtaim-0.1g is
out. It contains new features and some bugfixes. For
more detailed information see release notes for 0.1g.
Most important new features are font configuration capabilities & typed history accessible
during chat with Shitf-ArrowUp & Shift-ArrowDown. See the Online Help when running
J.I.M.
To upgrade your old installation simply replace
it by simply unpacking this release to a new directory and copy
the .jxtaim directory from your old installation to it. In this way you will keep your profile.
J.I.M v0.1f Released
jxtaim-0.1f is
out. It is a bugfix release to replace the 0.1e version. Please replace
it by simply unpacking this release to a different directory and copying
the .jxtaim directory from your 0.1e installation to keep your
profile.
The new release covers bug fixes for a critical bug in the 0.1e release & only
little code refactorings. Have a try!!
J.I.M v0.1e Problems
ATTENTION:
Our current release as an open issue which makes it unusable: See the bug-report.
We have a fix for it in HEAD. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will come
up with a new release in a few days.
J.I.M v0.1e Released
jxtaim-0.1e is
out. It is a bugfix release to replace the 0.1d version. Please replace
it by simply unpacking this release to a different directory and copying
the .jxtaim directory from your 0.1d installation to keep your
profile.
Note:
There were some serious issues with the 0.1d release, that now seem to
be solved:
The status ping/pong transfer was
buggy for a szenario, where only one of two parties has the other in his
buddy list. This is fixed in
this release!
Further there where issues preventing
jim to deal with large growing PeerGroup. The reason for that was that
discovery requests where performed without attributes. We hope that this
issue is now fixed, but, of
course, we need some more testing
to validate it.
Further improvements include
enhancements in status update. The buddies state you see and
expect is now nearly up to date.
Thanks for your support &
adventure spirit ;-)
J.I.M v0.1d Released
jxtaim-0.1d is
out. It is latest beta release. It is still a bit buggy, but its
stability should be sufficient for almost everyone.
Major enhancements include:
Introduction of a Unified Configuration Model.
JXTA Configuration can now be done through our new Configuration
Dialog: so no more xml hacking ;-) needed. All configuration is
persistent from now on. To deal with forthcoming Configuration needs, we
added a Unified Preferences Dialog. It handles all JIM related
configurations & can be extended in a plugin easily.
We fixed a bug in the autoresponder leading to an infinite message
ping/pong game. Finally, fixes include a misconfiguration preventing
profile advertisements to vanish almost immediatly when a user shuts
down the client.
For your convenience we reorganized the menu structure. It should be
much more intuitive now.
Have a try! It is a great release!!
